- Editor's Notes
- In reference to your letter of the 3d instant to Mr. Edison, I beg to say that I had not neglected the matter of your share in the final distribution on account of the Edison Indian-Colonial Co.; also your share in the former distribution. This last payment, as you can well understand, was wholly unexpected, and Messrs. Drexel, Morgan & Co. credited the amount to Mr. Edison's loan on account of Machine Works, in the same manner as they credited the former. I have arranged with the Edison Machine Works to give you their note for $2,000, and have to-day written Mr. Insull to find out if he will include in this note the $522.53 due you on final distribution. I will hear from him in a day or so. It is possible that I may see him personally to-morrow, when I will arrange the matter without further correspondence.
