In reference to your note of Oct. 20th, I beg to say that the person who is endeavoring to merchandise water-proof garments in your town upon the statement that they embody an invention of mine is making an unauthorized use of my name. I know nothing whatever about the garments in question, and I am indebted to you for having given me an opportunity to deny my connection with them in any way whatsoever. Initialled by T.
