"In reference to your letter of 12th inst, to Mr. Edison, stating that you would like to publish a portrait and sketch of his life. I will be very glad to give you what evidence I can in the way of obtaining the necessary date for your article and provide you with a photograph of Mr. Edison. The best way to [unclear] would for you to send a representative ever have, after making an appointment to meet me, when I can place in front of him all the printed matter which we have collected bearing upon Mr. Edison's life, and allow him to make such extracts as my be of use to you."
