Title
[LB027070], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to George Parsons Lathrop, November 16th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"The day before yesterday, [unclear] Redpath came to the Laboratory, on behalf of Mr. Rice, to try and obtain Mr. Edison's signature to the articles which you are writing. I had a talk with Mr. Edison about it again, but he would not agree to sign the articles, on the ground that it would appear egotistical. I told Mr. Redpath that, if your articles had been prepared and I could not give them to Mr. Edison for perusal, he might after reading [them have?] agreed to sign them. I [consider?] this simply [a possibility]. If you have not already prepared the articles I should not [unclear] with them and take [unclear] suggestion to Mr. Redpath was based [unclear] already prepared." Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
