- "Please send to us as soon as possible copies of all Mr. Edison's U.S. patents issued to date in connection with the phonograph.##We have made arrangement for the introduction of the Phonograph into Mexico-the gentleman who is to have charge of the business is endeavoring to obtain a concession from the Mexican government and is making application for this concession wishes to file the copies of patents above asked for, as [unclear] –therefore if my formality is necessary in order to render these useful in Mexico, such as the certification of the Mexican Consul, will you kindly have it attended to, and send us the copies with the necessary certificates attached."
