"Noting your favor of the [unclear] instant, I would state that after going over the matter with our General Manager in reference to executing the agreement of which you spoke, that was thought best not to enter into an agreement of this kind, as there were several points about it which we did not feel warranted in committing the Railroad Company in any way, [unclear]. ### I do not see that this will effect our [unclear, rest of sentence is too faded to read] mutually with yourselves, are very glad that there is such a system which can be advantageously employed, and it will not prevent our wishing to extend [rest of sentence is unclear]. ### [Next paragraph is faded and difficult to read, save for editors].
