Title
[LB027286], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to John H Vail, Edison Electric Light Co, December 5th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"In reference to your letter of 1st instant, enclosing copy of a communication from Lockport, N.Y., asking as to the durability of copper wire from arc light circuits. My opinion is, that if the arc current is a continuous one, the copper itself will last indefinitely. If alternating currents are used, it will probably become rotten, by reason of crystallization, in a few years." Yours very truly, [signed] TAE
