Editor's Notes

"In reference to your letter of 1st instant to Mr. Edison, I enclose herewith a letter under date Nov. 21st, 88, addressed to Thomas E. Connery, Esq., in relation to the parts which are to accompany each phonograph shipped to Mexico. I also enclose the joint letter from Col. Gouraud and Mr. Edison, addressed to Mr. Connery upon which we have had placed all necessary certificates. The day after you were last at the Laboratory. I wrote ot your Patent attorneys for certified copies of all patents issued up to that time, and these they have procured. During the past week ten new patents have been issued, copies of which we of course must obtain, and which I have already ordered, and will advise you when they come to hand. I also enclose copy of a letter from Senor Luis Mendez, under date Oct. 15, 1888, addressed to Col. Gouraud, together with a translation of the decree of President Diaz, issued on Sept. 29th 88. Will you be kind enough to show these to Mr. Connery and ask him to explain the significance of the grant. If you consider a personal interview desirable, I will be glad to meet yourself and Mr. Connery at your office any afternoon you may name. ### I omitted to state above that I also enclosed a letter addressed to Senor Don Lic Louis Mendez by Mr. Edison, asking that gentleman to co-operate with Mr. Connery in connection with the introduction of the phonograph. ### IN relation to the dimensions, weight &c. of the boxes in which phonographs will be packed, I am obtaining the information from the Edison Phonograph Works. We cannot state as yet what the cost of the various supplies, which are to be hereafter furnished will be." Yours truly, A.O. Tate
