- Editor's Notes
- "I obliged for your recent letter in regard to the time when you commenced work on the phonograph buildings. Are you sure that the date which you have mentioned is correct? Your contract provided that the first payment was to be made you when the walls were ready for the floor beams. I find that this payment was made on the 7th of June, which leads me to think that you must have started earlier than the 28th day of May. There are other circumstances also which indicate that work had progressed to a greater extent than would appear from your statement, by the 1st day of June. I will be very much indebted for any further information you can give me." Yours truly, AO Tate
