Editor's Notes: "Referring to my letter of 23d ult., in which I asked you to kindly send me a statement of Mr. Edison's loan to the Machine Works, and the various transactions with Drexel, Morgan & Co. connected therewith, all of which appears on the books of the Machine Works and of which we never have had any record--, please inform me when I may expect to receive this, as I desire at the end of the present month to close out the Laboratory books for the year 1888, and cannot do so until I am put in possession of the data above referred to. As the month has only two more weeks to run, kindly give the matter your prompt attention, and much oblige."
