- Editor's Notes
- "I have received your letter of 8th instant, in regard to Mr. J. Balleras. Mr. Balleras called on me yesterday, and stated that he desired instruction in the operation of the phonograph. I was not very clearly impressed in regard to his relation to your Company. You doubtless understand that it is Mr. Edison's intention to receive and instruct any men who are sent here by your Company, with the view of your employing them afterwards as experts. If you have made such an arrangement as this with Mr. Balleras, and if you will give him a letter to that effect, we will be very glad to give him facilities for familiarizing himself with the phonograph. I was only able to see Mr. Balleras for a few moments, and did not understand from what he said that you wished us to carry out the arrangement above." Yours truly AO Tate
