"In reference to your letter of 18th ult., in regard to an Electrical and Industrial Exposition to be held in Bingley Hall, Birmingham, during the months of August, September, and October of the present year, Mr. Edison desires me to say that it would be impracticable for him to make an exhibit at that time, for the reason that all his apparatus is being sent to the Paris Exposition."
