- Title
- [LB027976], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to George Edward Gouraud, January 29th, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- "We have already written you in regard to Mr. W.H. Stewart, of Concepcion, Chile, who cabled us the other day, offering $20,000 cash for the phonograph rights for that country. We received your cablegram of 26th instant, but it was too indefinite for us to obtain a clear understanding of your wishes in order to transmit them to Mr. Stewart. We therefore wired you this morning to negotiate direct with Stewart, Concepcion. This will avoid any complications which might arise through a three-cornered transaction. I have wired Mr. Stewart to address his proposition to you." Yours truly, [signed] TAE
