Title
[LB027995], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Francis Robbins Upton, January 30th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I want to get some information in regard to the contracts which have been made on behalf of Mr. Edison with the Cie. Continentale Edison. All the papers are not in my possession: Mr. Coater has some of them, and I therefore write to you, thinking that you will perhaps be able to answer the question I have to ask. In article 4 of the Contract of 5 of November, 1886, it is provided that Mr. Edison will offer to the Cie Continentale Edison, in the countries in which it has the right to work the Edison patents, patents of any new inventions which he may make &c., giving them a delay of 15 days to declare whether they accept the offer or not. Do any of the contracts provide that the Compagnie Continentale Edison shall pay the cost of Mr. Edison's experiments?" Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
