Title
[LB028004A], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, January 3rd, 1889
Editor's Notes
[TRANSCRIBED WITHIN LB028004] -"I think it right to tell you that the woodwork of any new Phonographs that you may send me, must be polished dark, because all mahogany office furniture in this country is of that color. This dark effect can be obtained in mahogany by fumigating the wood before polishing, and this is the most satisfactory process. I should also like you to send machines with walnut casing, as that wood is largely used here and I believe is cheaper than mahogany. (Signed) Geo. E. Gouraud."
