"This improvement consists in reducing or preventing the tendency of two metal plates to tarnish in teh electrolytic solution by the application of heat to the plates solution or both, in such a manner that the oxyygen disosolved in the solution or occluded beneath the metal surfaces may be expelled to a sufficient degree to prevent the formation of oxydiz[ing] compounds [remainder of paragraph very hard to read]##For this purpose the electrolytic solution may be [heated?] or maintained at bliling point for the length of time necessary to expel its dissolved gases and the plates may also be heated separately or [illeg]
