- Editor's Notes
- "We are returning you by to-night’s mail, sleeves which came with the lathe that we received from you Saturday last. These do not fit and have a shake of about sixty-fourth of an inch. We think there must have been a mistake in sending us these sleeves, as they show very bad workmanship. Parts of the machine were badly rusted, for the want of being greased before shipping; and we also find that the feather only enters quarter way into second gear. Is there any way in which we can remedy this? Please advise us at once." Yours truly, Laboratory of Thos. A. Edison by A.O. Tate
