"Colonel Gouraud, Mr. Edison's agent for the phonograph in foreign countries, has written me, asking me for certain information regarding your American Companies, namely:- [includes the list of 8 items] ### There are probably some questions here which you may not desire to answer, but I give them all just as Col. Gouraud has asked, thinking that you may be able to let me have part of the information for him. Of course what he wants to obtain is some standard from which to shape his own business."
