- "Replying to your letter 30th ult I beg to say that Mr. Edison in his contract with Lowell, Briggs, and William Jacques both of Boston grants to these persons "the sale and exclusive license and right to manufacture and sell within the United States for consumption and use therein, and to manufacture within the U.S. (or abroad) for use and consumption in foreign countries, dolls and toy figures containing the improvement described in US [unclear] patent 200.521 (the fundamental phonograph patent). ### The Edison Toy Phonograph Manufacturing Co. #95 Milk St Boston is the assignee of Briggs and Jacques under this contract, and all communication relating to Toy Phonograph is any part of the world should be addressed to this company."
