[LB029063], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to George Edward Gouraud, April 11th, 1889

Editor's Notes

"I beg to call your attention to your letter to me under date 5th February, in which you indicate your willingness to negotiate with Mr. John I. Sabin, as I have already informed you, is the President of the Pacific Phonograph Company, a man of means and an excellent man of business. It would be difficult, if not impossible for you to find a better connection for operation in these far away islands. I am to-day in receipt of a letter of a a letter from Mr. Sabin, or rather from his associate, Mr. Louis Glass. The latter in the General Manager of the Pacific Phonograph Co., and Mr. Sabin's brother-in-law. He states in his letter that a communication addressed to you since February 2d, and applying for the Sandwich Islands and Central America has not yet received attention. I have written these gentlemen, explaining to them that you have been more than busy with the general introduction of the phonograph in England and other foreign countries, and that their communication would without doubt receive attention than you had an opportunity of taking the matter up."### Tate marg: "I have not forgotten the information which you asked for some time ago [re?] certain details of the business of the North American Phono Co. [Will?] send it forard as quickly as I can collect it."
