Title
[LB029067], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Eaton and Lewis, April 11th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I enclose herewith notice from the Department State Board of Assessors, Trenton, N.J., regarding return which is to be made on or before the 7th day of May next relative to affairs of the Edison Phonograph Co. I also enclose a letter from Messrs. Parmly, Glendorf & Pink, of Jersey City, who dealt with this matter last year. During the year 1888 the Edison Phonograph Co. owned a phonograph factory at Bloomfield, N.J., which later on was turned over at the Edison Phonograph Works. I do not clearly [see?] upon what ground we can at the present time describe the Edison Phonograph Co. as a manufacturing Co. Perhaps there is some other way by which we can avoid taxation?" Yours truly, A.O. Tate
