- "Will you kindly send us 50 yds. Of N. 18 wire prepared as follows:- ### Wind with one layer of very thin cotton, then with rubber, and on this braid a very thin layer of cotton, at the same time making the mesh as close as possible. ### Also send 50 yds. Of wire prepared as above, but in place of braid, simply wind the cotton on the rubber. ### The idea is to have as little inflammable material as possible." Yours truly, [signed] TAE
