Title
[LB029150], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate, West Orange Laboratory to United States Supply Co, April 19th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"The rotary pump that we purchased from you some time ago does not seem to be large enough to perform our work. What we want is a pump that will lift water ten feet through a one inch pipe and discharge about 150 gallons per hour at an elevation of 70 feet. This the pump we now have will not do. From your letter to us of 27th February last we got the impression that you could supply us with a pump capable of doing this work, but we tried it in every possible way without obtaining a satisfactory result. Can you supply us with a larger pump capable of performing the work as above described? We would like you to send some one out to see us in regard to the matter, or if it is not convenient for you to send a representative to Orange, we will send some one in to New York to consult you." Yours very truly, LABORATORY OF THOMAS A. EDISON A.O. Tate
