Title

[LB029297], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison, Alfred Ord Tate to William Dennis Marks, May 6th, 1889

Editor's Notes

"Mr. Edison has made the following note on your letter of 3d instant re storage station:- ### 'In the present state of the art, the loss in passing through the battery, the depreciation and the interest on the investment in batteries, would more than pay 15 per cent on the stations, which would render them unnecessary. Taking interest, depreciation and loss as date, I have never in any case been able to figure out a single instance where direct system wouldn't beat the best storage, assuming storage was as good as claimed."
