- "In reply to your letter of 29th ultimo, I beg to say that Mr. Eiskemeyer's apparatus is a magneto electric induction apparatus, while Mr. Edison's is a purely magnetic arrangement. Mr. Edison has used this magnetic bridge for the detection of flaws in iron, and it is also useful for determining the best iron for dynamos and motors.
