- Title
- [LB030151], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to John W L Pierson, May 31st, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- "I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 25th instant. ## In reply I regret to state that at present there is no position vacant in the Laboratory to which you could be appointed, Mr. Edison already having more assistance in his work than he really requires. Just now he is cutting down his staff, and he contemplates a trip to Europ this summer, and work will not be taken up actively until his return. Your application has been placed on file for reference, and should an opportunity occur in the future, I shall be pleased to communicate with you."
