- Editor's Notes
- In conversation with Mr. Edison, we have decided that you be appointed Manager of the Edison Phonograph Works, at a monthly salary equivalent to Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000) a year. You will, therefore, undertake your duties immediately. ### It is understood that the management of the Works is defined as taking in the general management of all matters pertaining to the buying of material, manufacture of same, and shipment of same. The bookkeeping and accounts with customers is in the hands of Mr. Tate as formerly. It is also understood that this is not an engagement by the year but simply by the month. Very truly yours, Charles Batchelor
