Title
[LB030483], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Sherburne Blake Eaton, June 21st, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I am not quite clear in regard to issuing these notices for Stockholders Meeting of the Edison Phonograph Company, and, therefore, send Mr. Maguire t you with this note. He has with him notices to all of the original stockholders [unclear] the stock certificate book of the Phono. Co. is not here, and I have none of the papers to which I can refer. My recollection is, however, that when the stock was placed in the hands of the Garfield Safe Deposit Co., it was all transferred to Mr. Edison, excepting five shares in the name of each of the other four Directors, namely Batchelor, Gilliland, Tomlinson and Tate. The agreement with the Garfield Co. refers to these certificates, giving I think the numbers of them and the shares represented by each. If this is correct, as I am almost positive it is, then it is necessary to send notices only to Messrs. Edison, Gilliland, Tomlinson, Batchelor, Tate and Mrs. Hemenway." Yours very truly, AO Tate
