"Mr. Edison has asked me to acknowledge the receipt of your letter under date 17th instant, and to thank you for the kind invitation embodied therein for him to visit The New York Telegraph Club. ### Mr. Edison contemplates a trip to Europe this summer, which will prevent immediate acceptance of your invitation. On his return from abroad, however, he will be glad to avail himself of your kindness, and if possible will try and arrange to visit your Club. ### Mr. Edison asks me to say to you that he would consider it an honor to be elected a member of The New York Telegraph Club."
