"Mr. Edison has received your letter of 22nd instant, also the four lamps which were returned to you by the Phoenix Mill people. He says that the trouble with the latter is due to inferior clamp paste having been used, and has written the Lamp Co. a very strong letter in regard to the matter, which I think will prevent a similar recurrence in the future. You will doubtless hear direct from the Lamp Co. in a day or so." Yours truly, AO Tate
