Title
[LB031408], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Edison Lamp Co, July 24th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I enclose herewith copy of a letter, dated 22nd instant, from William M. Brock, Manager, Edison Electric Illuminating Co., Paterson, N.J., addressed to Mr. Edison, upon which the latter has made the following note:-- ### "Mr. Marshall should personally investigate this. It is due undoubtedly to inferior clamp paste or carelessness in putting in. This defect at clamp, which is a known thing, is a DISGRACE to the Lamp Company. There is some excuse in a filament, which we have to guess about, but not so with clamping &c. E." ### Your Mr. Marshall has examined the four lamps referred to in Mr. Brock's letter, and he says that the trouble is due to defective clamping. ### Kindly give this matter your immediate attention, and oblige" Yours very truly, AO Tate
