Title
[LB031460], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to John Pender, July 30th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"Your favor of July 19th came duly to hand. I regret extremely that it will be quite impossible for me to visit England during my trip abroad. There is so much that I must see in Paris and other parts of the Continent, and the time at my disposal will be so limited, that however much I would like to accept your kind and flattering invitation to visit you at Foots Cray, I shall be compelled regretfully to decline. I shall be in Paris from the 10th or 15th of August to the end of the month, and if you can find it convenient to visit the Exposition at that time, it will afford me very great pleasure to see you there and again renew our very pleasant acquaintance. With kind regards, believe me. [typed; unsigned]
