Title
[LB031468], Letter from Charles Batchelor to W R Wills, August 1st, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I was extremely sorry not to have been able to see you during your visit here. I understand, however, that Mr. Edison and you spent considerable time together, and no doubt to mutual advantage. ### Mr. Edison has instructed me to send you form the Phonograph Works, a complete phonograph for your own personal use. ### The rights for the phonograph in Massachusetts of course are out of the hands of Mr. Edison, but I have this morning arranged it with Mr. Lippincott, President of the North American Phonograph Co., so that you will be allowed to use it. I shall, therefore, take pleasure in forwarding you the instrument in a few days, together with a number of musical cylinders, and also cylinders that you can experiment with &c., &c. ### The next time that you are down this way, I hope I shall know when you are coming, so that I can have the pleasure of meeting you." Very truly yours, Charles Batchelor
