Title

[LB031495], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Richard Townley Haines, August 2nd, 1889

Editor's Notes

"With reference to your letter of 26th ultimo, relative to obtaining a phonograph for Monsieur Angelo Mariani, of Paris, Mr. Edison has asked me to write our Mr. Wangemann, who is at present in Paris securing phonograms of celebrated musicians &c., instructing him to place a phonograph at Monsieur Mariani's disposal, and to exhibit the instrument at his house in Paris any two evenings he desires. Therefore, if M. Mariani will call on our Mr. Wangemann, who he will find at the Paris Exposition, and communicate with him his desire for an exhibition of the phonograph at his residence, Mr. Wangemann will be pleased to arrange for such an exhibition and will also personally superintend the same and do all he can to make it a success. ### Trusting that this will be satisfactory to yourself and Monsieur Mariano." I am, yours truly, AO Tate
