- I have your letter of 2nd instant enclosing copies of resolutions of the N.Y. Board of Aldermen, April 12, 1881, giving certain rights to the U.S. Illuminating Co. and the Brush Electric Illuminating Co. It is quite clear from these that the former has no right to erect overhead conductors in the City of New York. Judge Andrews has doubtless assumed, without looking at the records, that they possess this right. Cannot you have the EVENING POST bring out this point? As the main point in Judge Andrews' decision was that the U.S. Company had made a large investment under the law. Yours truly, [signed] TAE
