Title
[LB034060], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Eaton and Lewis, November 14th, 1889
Editor's Notes
I enclose herewith (1) copy of contract between Thomas A. Edison and A.B. Dick Company, under date June 27, 1887; ### (2) copy of contract between Thomas A. Edison, Robert Gilliland and the A.B. Dick Co., under date August 4, 1887; (3) a batch of correspondence between Mr. Dick, myself and Mr. Edison, which explains itself. ### The A.B. Dick Company manufactures Mimeographs in America and ships them abroad for sale in foreign countries. Have they the rights to do this? Mr. Edison has no foreign patents on the Mimeograph, and the A.B. Dick Co. takes the ground that for this reason it is free to sell in foreign countries without paying Mr. Edison any royalty. I wish to ascertain what their rights really are under the contracts which have been made with them. Very truly yours, A.O. Tate
