- Editor's Notes
- Mr. A.G. Bradstreet has very kindly referred to Mr. Edison your letter to him under date 9th instant, in regard to the Edison Ore Milling process. In order to give you definite information in regard to the treatment of the ore which you have in mind, it will be necessary for Mr. Edison to have full details as to the character of the ore, its situation &c. Perhaps the best way would be to have 20 lbs. of the same sent to the Laboratory, and in doing this the poorest samples should be selected. Mr. Edison erects mills for separating iron ore, of from 200 to 1,000 tons daily capacity. We have no circulars in regard to the process, terms being made subject to contract, and payloads depending upon the success of the mill. We can generally take a [20?] unit ore and run it up to 65 units, losing only two per cent or [unclear] in the tailings. Of course, everything depends upon the character of the ore, and Mr. Edison will be glad to receive a sample whenever you can send it, after which he will he will communicate with you further. Very truly yours, A.O. Tate
