Title
[LB034497], Letter from Walton Harrison, John G Taylor to Thomas Alva Edison, December 3rd, 1889
Editor's Notes
We are aware that your time is most valuable, but would be pleased to have you examine into the merits of a thoroughly feasible plan that we have for utilizing the power of Niagara Falls. We would especially say in the beginning that ours is not a wild scheme requiring newly invented or ponderous devices calculated to mar the bounty of the falls or surrounding scenery. It is not, strictly speaking, an invention, but rather a general outline of a gigantic engineering work, the data being based upon a careful study of the nature and extent of the difficulties to be overcome. Our endeavor throughout has been to simplify, to cheapen, to render practical and to avoid novelty, our principal guide being common sense. We would be glad to present in person or to forward to you plans and specifications setting forth the details with the understanding that you examine the same. If upon investigation you find out plan to be meritorious, we would be glad to have you make us a proposition looking towards putting the same into execution, we being mutually interested. With every confidence we submit the matter to you. Hoping to receive an early and favorable reply. We are respectfully, Walton Harrison ### John G. Taylor
