Dec. 10, 1889. D.Z. Curtiss, Esq., Editor, THE SAGINAW EVENING JOURNAL, Saginaw, Michigan Reply to your esteemed favor of 26th ultimo has been delayed owing to the absence of Mr. Edison, who upon his return to the Laboratory, read your communication with much interest. In reply he desires me to say that, the low tension current is used in the Edison system only. The Sprague Company uses Edison dynamos, but uses them for a much higher tension. Mr. Edison's article in the NORTH AMERICAN REVIEW was directed to danger to life not to fire. All telegraph and telephone wires should have safety fuses, the same as are used, in connection with telephones in all large cities. Very truly yours, AO Tate, Private Secretary
