Feb. 25, 1890 Mr. Thomas Butler, 44 Wall Street, New York City Dear Sir:- I beg to acknowlede receipt of your letter of 24th instant, informing me that on that day you received from Mr. Chapman, check for $9,718.78, representing the proceeds of two notes of the Edison Phonograph Works, each dated Feb. 21st, at four mos., for $5,005 and payable to the order of Thomas A, Edison at the Third National Bank, New York, and that you have deposited said check in the Third Nat'l Bank to the credit of the Edison Phonograph Works.
