Dear Sir:-
Confirming our telephone conversation of this morning, I have received a note from Mr. Edison in which he says that your article, "SCIENTIFIC USES OF THE PHONOGRAPH," is all right. Mr. Edison also says that he thinks you can do certain classes of experimenting better with an old machine, and has instructed me to furnish you with one if you desire. Pursuant to your wish in this connection, telephoned me this morning, I have given orders for an old style phonograph to be expressed to you at your address in Brooklyn, #432 Lafayette Avenue. This machine will go forward tomorrow.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
