March 5, 1890 Mr. William E. Hibble, Myers, Florida. My dear Sir:- Your letter under date 13th February last in regard to the painting of Mr. Edison's property at Myers, has been duly received. Mrs. Edison desires to have the house painted yellow with white trimmings. In regard to the roof she makes the following note: "For roof pretty shade to blend with the yellow and white; some say some rich brownish red, but something else is prettier." I think you had better select these colors and purchase them yourself. It will cost us just as much to buy them here and pay freight on them to Florida, besides which it would take a number of weeks to get them down to you by freight. If the balance which you have on hand is not sufficient to cover the purchase of this material, advise me and I will make you a further remittance. Please let me know how everything is at Myers, and oblige. Yours truly, A.O. Tate
