March 5, 1890 W.M. Burrows, Esq., 18 Broadway, New York City. Dear Sir:- With reference to your letter of 4th instant, asking for "specifications" for the 4 cases wooden models via S.S. LA BRETAGNE. I enclose herewith bill of the Societie Centrale de Construction de Machines, the last item of which calls for complete models &c of condensers Nos. 1 & 2, 6,000 frames. These models I have not yet received, and they are doubtless contained in the cases referred to. The bill attached hereto I desire you to return to me, as it is the only record we have here. In regard to shipment via LA NORMANDIE, all the papers concerning this shipment that we had were sent to Mr. Wight the other day. I enclose herewith Mr. Edison's check to your order for $225. WG, covering the following items: Amount paid by you to French Line for Ocean Freight $128.26 C.H. Fees, brokerage, cartage &c. La Normandie shipment 18.50 Additional expense on machinery 20 cases La Normandie December last 80.00 226.78 The check for $225.76 is one dollar short of the total $226.75 and I enclose herewith One Dollar bill, covering some. The error was caused by our accepting the total in your letter of 4th inst. $143.75 as correct, when there is an error of a dollar in it.
