March 25th 1890
Francis R. Upton, Esq., Gen'l Manager,
Edison Lamp Company,
Harrison, New Jersey.
Dear Sir:-
I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 22d instant, enclosing bond from the American Surety Company indemnifying Mr. Edison against liability on his bond given in behalf of the United Edison Manufacturing Company, upon replevying the plant at South Amboy, N.J.
I will place this document in our safe.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
Private Secretary
March 25th 1890
Mr. William A. McCulloch
Greenbush, Renssalaer Country,
New York
Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison has received your letter of the 11th instant, directing his attention to a mining property in North Carolina, in which you hold a half interest.
Mr. Edison would like you to name a price for which you would be willing to dispose of this property. If it is not too high, he will send an expert to examine the mine.
Mining property in North Carolina is scarcely worth more than the regular land price per acre for tract.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
Priv. Secretary
