Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison has received your letter of the 11th instant, informing him of your patent for exclusive use of cool oil instead of water, in the operation of Rock Drills.
Mr. Edison will subject this process to a practical test, and will write you further in regard to it.

In reply to your letter of 12th instant, I beg to inform you that Mr. Edison has never worked in Aluminum.
He has so many important matters on hand, that he has not time now, to give this subject any attention.
