April 9, 90 Samuel Insull, Esq., #44 Wall Street, New York Dear Sir:- Referring to the second paragraph, on page 3 of the Memorandum regarding the EDISON INDUSTRIAL WORKS which I sent to you this morning, will you kindly make this read as follows:- "The Edison Industrial Works will be permitted to establish branch factories upon obtaining Mr. Edison's consent, in which case should these branches be capitalized, the same percentage of their Capital Stock is to be issued to Mr. Edison as in the case of the original Company. This provision is made in view of the necessity abroad to sustain patents." Mr. Edison thinks it would be better to express ourselves in the above way rather than refer to the formation and sub-companies. Yours truly, A.O. Tate Private Secretary
