April 11th 1890 Colonel George E. Gouraud No. 74 Madison Avenue, New York City Dear Sir:- I beg to confirm the following telegrams exchanged between us today: my messages being addressed to you at the Arlington Hotel, Washington, D.C. "Have some new cylinders: will they reach you in time if expressed immediately? T.A. Edison." To which you replied as follows:- "Yes if sent by messenger immediate to John Hoey, Adams Express, explaining circumstance, addressed to me care President's Private Secretary, White House. Gouruad."
