Dear Sir:-
I beg to confirm the following telegrams exchanged between us today: my messages being addressed to you at the Arlington Hotel, Washington, D.C.
"Have some new cylinders: will they reach you in time if expressed immediately? T.A. Edison."
To which you replied as follows:-
"Yes if sent by messenger immediate to John Hoey, Adams Express, explaining circumstance, addressed to me care President's Private Secretary, White House. Gouruad."
"Have sent them to Hoey to special messenger. Edison."
