Miss Elizabeth Dean,
2 Ella Road, Cronch Hill,
London, North, England
Dear Miss Dean:-
With reference to your letter of 31st ultimo, addressed to Mr. Edison, the phonograph could be used for the purpose which you mention, the only thing necessary being, for someone to read the instrument, when it would give a faithful reproduction of the matter recorded upon it, which reproduction could be repeated at will.
A Company has just need organized here which will handle the Phonograph business in England, and agencies will soon be established in all the principal English cities.
It is the company's intention to commence active business shortly.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
Private Secretary
