April 19th 1890
John Davis Thomas, Esq.,
No. 52 North Terrace,
Adelaide, Australia.
Dear Sir:-
Replying to your letter of 16th instant, to Mr. Edison, I take pleasure in informing you that some very successful experiments have been made by members of your profession in New York, in connection with recording heart-beats and the action of the lungs upon the Phonograph.
It is altogether probable that within the next few months you will be able to obtain a Phonograph in Australia, when you can experiment in the same direction for yourself.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
