Messrs Dyer & Seely
No. 40 Wall Street, New York City
Dear Sirs:-
I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 16th instant, in regard to foreign patents on my new mailing box for Phonogram. I have written the Edison United Phonograph Co., for authority to commence filing the specifications, as they will have to bear the expense of taking out the patents.
You will take these out, following the usual course, to prevent shortening the life of the United States Patent
Yours very truly
Thos A. Edison
